Combahee Plantation offers a wide range of recreational opportunities. The plantation has implemented Quality Deer Management since 1985, harvesting several bucks harvested in the 175-185 pound range. The plantation was stocked with wild turkeys in 1980 and has an above average turkey population, as well excellent opportunity for doves. Adjacent to the ACE Basin Federal Wildlife Refuge (wintering thousands of waterfowl), Combahee has enormous potential for waterfowl shooting. There is an existing green tree reserve and a small flooded corn field. The Combahee River, Cuckold’s Creek and the property’s 2.5 acre freshwater fish pond provide robust populations of bass, bream and crappie.
Leather Britches, 300 acres on the north side of Combahee, has been thinned, groomed and managed for quail shooting. It is ideal for an early release program.
Combahee represents a rare breed—a truly historic sporting property.
